Macintosh Software Guide

Many lawyers are hesitant to switch to Macintosh computers because of the perception of a lack of available software. Our Members are of the belief that the quantity of available software is less important than the availability of quality software. If the five programs you use work consistently on your Mac, and run your law office efficiently, you may find that you're miles ahead by giving your PC to your kids so they can play games.

In any event, Apple has created an online Software Guide. It is by no means an exhaustive list, but feel free to browse around over at apple.com to learn about some valuable software options. One of the categories is "Legal." It contains many "do-it-yourself" legal self-help titles, but there are also Law Office Management and Law Practice titles for your review. You need to click the button next to that category and then scroll down to the "Find" button.

Don't forget that Microsoft Office is available for the Macintosh operating system. All documents created in Office on either Windows or Macintosh are readable and editable in either platform.
